Domain Sharding revisited | High Performance Web Sites.

Domain sharding is spreading objects on your web page to be delivered from different domains. This enables the Browser to open up more concurrent sessions and, in theory, speed up the page load.

Whilst still a contender for a performance boost, it may not be a clear cut as it once appeared to be.
